If you want top-level
tuition in the know-how and expertise behind professional window treatments,
Morwenna offers workshops in professional curtain-making in London, for
interior designers and decorators who want to master the trade, or people who
just want to add an expert touch to decorating their own homes.
This is intensive tuition, either one-to-one or in a very small group, tailored to teach you exactly what you want to learn. Morwenna ran a busy London furnishings workshop for 15 years so you will achieve a great deal in a day, whether beginner or advanced. Curtain-making itself needs only very basic sewing abilities: its the knowledge and techniques that count. For example, you can learn how to make:
- Lined and
interlined curtains
- Hand-made headings and simple taped headings
- Pelmets and valances
- Swags and tails
- Roman blinds
- Austrian, festoon and London blinds
- Drapes for beds
And of course, all the
essentials of measuring up, designing window treatments that work, fabric
calculations, cutting and pattern matching, and the final key to success -
professional tracks and fitting.
You will take home
samples, worksheets and lots of inside information on the sources of equipment
and professional materials that you will need in the future.
Teaching takes place in
Morwenna's studio workshop in North London and can be arranged at times to suit
you - weekdays or weekends. A sandwich lunch is provided, and this and all
materials are included in the cost, which is around £185 per day per
person for one-to-one, with discounts for groups. Teaching is always
tailor-made, so you are very welcome to email for a chat about your own
requirements, and costings.
